The DALRC has recently completed mailing our latest newsletter to all names collected through various channels over the past year. We have made an attempt to reach as many people as possible with a stake in the Delta Family Care Retirement Plan.
Our goal is to make sure all Delta people, active and retired, are aware of the formation of the DALRC, it's purpose and the challenges we face today in protecting our earned pensions. Over the past few months, another organization has incorrectly characterized our mission and our efforts. After meeting with the leaders of that particular group, we had hoped they would find it appropriate to correctly communicate our purpose but unfortunately the communication disseminated from that meeting to their constituents failed to adequately set the record straight.
Hopefully by providing all of the members of their organization with a complimentary newsletter, they will be able to make an educated decision on their own as to the value of supporting our efforts. We continue to stay as informed as possible regarding the security of our pension benefits and will be working with Delta as they build support among major airlines for changes to the funding policies of defined pension plans in the future.
