It was brought to our attention that we inadvertently used the word "membership" in the Newsletter to describe the "number of participants" in DALRC. The correct terminology is the current "number of participants making a donation" to the DALRC committee. This is an important aspect as it is important to meet the requirements of a not for profit organization, which we qualify for.
Proxy documents
A discussion ensued regarding what action, if any, needs to be taken with applications that have been sent to DALRC that do not include a minimum of $60 or a note indicating additional money will follow. As was noted, we have suggested a donation of $60 total when accepting proxies from active and retired Delta people (excluding pilots) and we have received a few proxies that fail to include any monetary contribution to the DALRC for any expenses incurred in representing their interest in the event of a bankruptcy. There were some that were concerned about the fact that while it is important to receive a monetary donation in order to keep DALRC up and running, it is also necessary to get as many signed proxies as possible in order to show the courts that DALRC is representative of all non pilot Delta people, both active and retired. There were discussions regarding what status the current proxies in this category should have and what action should be taken in the future if we receive others with the same issue. Cathy Cone was to request direction from legal team regarding the inclusion of non-financial supporters that have sent in a proxy.
Website Management
Jim Freeman, retired pilot, is currently providing assistance with the DALRC website and it was noted that we are very appreciative of his efforts.
