Subject: Message to retirees re benefits confirmation
Per your request, I have included the fact that the retiree information on the confirmation is correct and that updates will be made on the DL web site regarding the timeline for the 'paper' correction. You'll note that we are encouraging retirees to call the benefit enrollment VRU to review their information to date and if applicable, they may make changes per normal confirmation procedures.
Error on Paper Confirmation Guides
The Employee Service Center (ESC) has been advised that due to a data transmission problem retirees, inactives and survivors have received a printed confirmation guide with an error. These guides are used to confirm benefit elections made during the recent Annual Open Enrollment for the participant and their eligible dependents. On the guide, the retiree, inactive or survivor's benefit election correctly reflects what he or she enrolled in; however, the dependents who are covered under those elections are not correctly stated. Instead, the confirmation guide states: Covered Dependents - NONE. Only participants with eligible dependents were impacted by the error.
Affected retirees, inactive and survivors will be sent corrected confirmation information to their address on file. The corrected pressure-sealed notice will provide the names of the dependents who were properly enrolled in coverage as of the end of the annual enrollment period - November 10, 2004. When more information about the mailing date of this notice is available, updates will be posted on the Delta Retiree Connection web site at http://dlretiree.info/ and Delta NewsLine. In the interim, participants are encouraged to review their 2005 benefit elections and enrolled dependents via the Benefit Enrollment VRU (1-800- MY DELTA, prompt # 4) or if you have a Delta Passport Password via the web at https://enrollnow.delta.com. If you wish to make changes to your 2005 benefit elections or covered dependents, you must do so between November 29 and December 9 by accessing the VRU or web site noted in the previous sentence. If additional assistance is needed, Employee Service Center (ESC) customer service representatives are available to assist you with benefit questions Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
